About the Relay and Run for 21K
TACKLE 21 KILOMETERS (13.1 MILES) ON YOUR OWN OR AS PART OF A 3-PERSON RELAY TO HELP SUPPORT THREE GREAT CAUSES!
The Relay and Run for 21 helps to raise money for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, the Pujols Family Foundation and DADS Community Outreach fund. The 21 represents the third 21st chromosome, and 21 kilometers is also the approximate distance for a half marathon.
The Relay and Run for 21K starts in downtown Clayton and winds its way across St Louis County, passing through residential areas in University City, Olivette, Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights. The finish line is located at Westport Plaza.
Whether running as an individual or 3-person relay team, the course is somewhat challenging and ever changing along its path. And great finisher medals await at finish line at Westport Plaza.
The relay will be run in three segments:
Eight Aid Stations will be located along the course. Buses will continually run from the start line, to each of the 2 relay stations, the finish line and then return again to the start area. Spectators are encouraged to also ride the buses. Please give athletes preference when loading.
